Thanks for this! Just want to say you are truly an inspiration, congrats all your success, I also wanted to ask did you get a personal trainer or you just work out alone at the gym? What Protein shakes did you try? What has been your biggest struggle throughout this journey? Where are you from? Thanks for takin the time to share your story.

nooooo not per say I was a fitness specialist in the USAF for 6 years before I had a terrible accident .... so no i didn't have a personal trainor per say but i did have a dedicated workout out partner who was a firefighter in training, so we really fed off each other's energy... ( I do know from my military experience and in my personal life now... having a dedicated partner who won't take no for any answer, put up with excuses, and hold you accountable... is better than a personal trainer...)

Protein- Right after surgery I could not tolerate whey Protein or dairy so i was on pea Protein ... until 3 months out now I enjoy 2 different shakes I LOVE chocolate OH YEAH Protein shake but think the calorie counts is high but delicious as far as Protein Shakes go ....the other one is vanilla Elite Gourmet the calorie are a bit better plus it has amino acids for muscle recovery and retention which is a plus and it also has calcuim ... usually I use half a scoop of each in about 8oz of Water in a Blender Bottle or the elite gourmet blends and tastes great with bananas, strawberries, and mixed berries.

OK- Struggles so i've had alot going on with me personally ( seperating and divorcing my husband, instantly becoming a single parent of 2 small kids, selling my house in the BUYERS MARKET, and moving me and little ones across the world) in the last 6 months which i think added to my struggles a bit. In the beginning i was a die hard strictly by the book sleever, I struggled for a couple weeks but got back on track i even reach out to the people on the board and the helped me ( found alot of support here on this board ... I would say if you get off track don't give up find your focus and get right back on track... You can do it and your sleeve will aid you every step of the way... Hope this helps message me anytime ( : and BTW FL native and I now reside in ATLANTA GA AND LOVIN IT :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
