Not A Rude Waiter, But A Rude Patron.

Wow, how rude can you get? I don't know what i would have done. Maybe moved to another table? Maybe smiled really big at her and said hi? I just don't know. But you really can't let idiots affect you. Just feel sorry for them and forget them.

As for waiters asking why you aren't eating or if you're on a diet, that is extremely rude too imho. I haven't had that happen yet, they only ask if the food is ok, not why I'm not eating it. That's none of their business. I just say the food is great, I want to take some home with me.

I'm one of those people that would totally have showed her a mouth full of chewed up food. If she's that interested in what I'm eating, I wanna give her the full show! :) Yes - I truly am that person haha.

It does suck - but other people's issues are theirs and theirs alone. Don't accept her trying to convey her problems to you.

Oh me too. Or i would have asked her if she was enjoying her meal. I used to get sooooo bugged when I was nursing my older two kids in public, I would actually let it stop me from doing it in public. Same with taking insulin shots or taking my blood sugar. people would stare. As I got older, i decided i did NOT need to let other people take my enjoyment away from me, or to let it bother me. It was really really hard to push through feeling uncomfortable and felt easier to leave or run away, but gradually I got to my place of holding my ground, ignoring or staring down stupid people. LOL!

I eat out all the time and have not had any waiter issues. I've used the tricks learned here -- I still order a glass of Water and push it away, or if I'm with hubby, he drinks some of his first and then switches with me. For food I order a very small thing or I get a box to start with. Have had zero issues that way.

Sounds like she was completely insecure to me. She must have her own issues with food and put it on you. Maybe she was concerned about how much she is eating anyway and when she saw you eating less, it confirmed whatever misguided thoughts she had.

Really sounds like it was her issue. Although it sucks that you had to bare the brunt of it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
