Any Tips For Flying With Shakes & Vitamins

Recommended Posts

I took my pills in my pill box for 7 days. I was not going to be gone for long on my last trip. I know that they suggest that you keep prescription meds in the bottles especially narcotics. It never hurts to be safe. I know when I leave the country I keep all of my pills in the bottles. It is a pain but I do not want to end up in some trouble over medications. As far as your shake mix I have individual packets that I travel with and as long as they are powder and in the package I have not had any trouble. I usually buy a bottle of Water and then use my shaker to make my shake. Or if on the plane they will give you water and ice and you can shake away.

powders and Vitamins are fine--if you're just taking a carry-on, sounds like a domestic flight, and you'll be fine.

So it's ok to take your narcs on a plane? I sure don't want my bottle confiscated!

yes you may take pain medications on the plane but I would leave them in their original bottle. You will not have any problems with them taking them away as long as they are prescription and given to you by a physician and are in a bottle from the pharmacy

Just take the number of Vitamins you need, no sense carrying all the bottles.< /p>

As for shake, just measure amounts into zip lock bags, doubt security will notice and if they do and taste they will know it isn't drugs. What is worst case, they confiscate it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
