DrewsLou 3 Posted August 2, 2006 I went for my third fill yesterday and my doctor was unable to aspirate anything out of my band. There should have been 1.5cc in there. I had my fisrt fill of 1cc in May and the same thing happened when I got my second fill in June, nothing there. My doc says my band may be leaking but he has no idea where. He said I could have a flouro to try and determine where it is leaking and go from there or I could just keep coming back monthly for fills. He put 1.9cc's in there yesterday and I feel ZERO restriction now. What would your recommendations be? Thanks!
Trace Curry 1 Posted August 2, 2006 Certainly concerning that there might be a leak, but until you have 2 consecutive fills where there is zero aspirated, I wouldn't say for sure that's what it is. If you were my patient I'd say come back in a month, if there is zero in there again then inject some dye in the port and see if there is a leak. DrewsLou 3 Posted August 2, 2006 This was the second time there was nothing back in the syringe. I made an appointment for August 29th. I am actually feeling some restriction this morning so I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm pretty bummed that there could be a problem though!
barbara465 2 Posted August 2, 2006 I went to get a fill and the PA said there's nothing there. There was supposed to be 1.3cc in there. When she went to fill it she did something and the aspiration worked. It was like she didn't put the needle in correctly for it to "pop" if that makes sense. Maybe you have a slow leak if your feeling restricted now.
