Thank you Beautiful for the supportive words. I go to my information meeting next Saturday. I wish I could rush things along and get the process moving. The one thing that scares me is the loose skin that I will have after because I have about 150 lbs to loose. But I know I will be healthier and be able to do things that I haven't been able to do in a long time. I will deal with the loose skin when I get to that bridge. I guess it's just one steady step at a time. I'm just very anxious to start loosing and get off some of my meds and get rid of my cpap machine. Have you had your surgery already and if so what kind of experience have you had with it?

@Welittle1...I have just started the process as well. I went to my first consultation last week, and have the first appt with the nutritionist Monday March 5th. I don't have to do the 6 mth diet so I am also wondering what the next step will be after Monday. I am also extremely anxious and want to speed up the process so I know exactly how you feel!

I can tell u this about the loose skin. About 10 yrs ago I had my 3rd baby and then became determined to get thin after having her. I had become increasingly over weight even before the pregnancy. And didn't have near as much weight to lose as I do now. But I already had a loose tummy pouch from my 1st child. And I thought if I lost all the weight it would go away and I was very wrong...I got down from a size 14-16 to an 8 and worked out with a personal trainor and found myself very disappointed about the stomach and underneath my arms were very loose and jiggly too. I believe that is part of the reason that I started packing on the pounds again and quit caring. Why bother ya know? Well now I am older and know better...come on loose skin and jiggles!!! Whatever will be will be. I will be healthy and thinner and will figure out the rest later. What I wouldn't give to go back in time and tell myself how little the jiggle really matters!! I hope this helps!

Any works of encouragement always help. I also have the dreaded loose tummy pouch from previous weight lose and have had my doctor tell me that no amount of exercise will make it go away. But like you said, I will deal with that when the time comes. The important thing is that we are doing something to better our lives and health and that is the main thing right now. Please keep us posted on your progress and I will as well. I look forward to getting to know you and about your journey. I think we could be very supportive to each other as well as everyone else here.

I haven't had my consult yet...I go Mar. 9. I don't know what the dr is going to say about pre-op but I'm pretty negative about having to punish myself if he requires 2 weeks of liquids. I went thru the Options Program at Kaiser and lost 48 lbs...more than anyone in the class. That ended about 3 weeks ago and I've now lost a total of 54 lbs. I can't see what benefit 2 more weeks of liquids will be more than what I've already accomplished in the past 3 1/2 monhs. The liver fat (and belly fat) is reduced thru low carbohydrate dieting and that's essentially what I have been on already. I plan on politely objecting to such a strenuous diet but I don't know what good it will do. I will probably just cheat a little for the first week and then slam dunk the second week just before surgery. If the 2 week diet was such an absolute necessity, there wouldn't be the inconsistencies from one doctor to the next. JMO

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
