Help Me Eat Less Carbs!

Recommended Posts

Here are the foods I usually eat during the day at work. For dinner I will have Protein like chicken, shrimp or fish with veggies. I do not eat anything past 7 pm. It seems during the day, I like sweet foods that end up making me eat 100+ carbs. Do you know any alternatives to these foods I'm eating that have less carbs?

I cut out all the sweets after surgery and I didn't eat fruit until the six-month mark. For Breakfast, I would have 2 oz of ground turkey with taco seasoning and a tablespoon of greek yogurt. For lunch, 3 large shrimp. For dinner, 2 oz of fish and one or two broccoli florets. For Snacks, I had 10 almonds.

Fruit, dairy, pudding, candy--I waited for these until the majority of my weight was gone. I am not saying that my way is the only way, but I knew that I needed to get to goal as fast as possible and I was willing to stick to a really strict regimen to do it.

If you switch out the grapes with berries and switch the yogurt to a sugar-free yogurt (or maybe greek yogurt that you mix up yourself with stevia or Splenda), it could make a pretty big difference :)

Edited to add: You could probably find a lower-carb Protein Bar and Protein Shake too ...

Yeah the carbs on the Protein Shake and bar seem a little high, I use Atkins shakes and while they only have 15 grams of Protein, they have like 1 or 2 net carbs each. I don't eat fruit at all but never did even pre-op. Is the carbs in your Jello pudding from the milk or are you using regular pudding? I would try sugar free. I think there are low carb yogurts, but I only use plain greek yogurt as a sour cream replacement in dips and stuff. You can also use stevia and Torani sf syrups to flavor and sweeten with too.

:)
