MoonSiren 48 Posted February 21, 2012 I got a $30 gift card from my grandfather as a birthday gift so I went to Kohls to use it. I could fit in size 1x tops and 16 size dresses in the regular women's section. They had such a huge womens section compared to a tiny plus size section hidden in the back of the store. I'm so excited that I don't have to be limited to plus size stores anymore.
lissi 15 Posted February 21, 2012 This is such an amazing feeling, is it not? I'm almost 2yrs post op and sometimes it still doesn't register. When I walk into a store, out of habit I still want to go to the plus section. I'll pick up a size 3 and say "no way" this will fit me" and I go try then on and they do....It's still a shocker. Pookeyism 1,143 Posted February 21, 2012 That is so cool. I am going shopping today and I am just not sure what size I will be in. Wish me luck! I want that feeling too!
mnbsleeve 87 Posted February 21, 2012 How awesome is that!!!! I get a little overwhelmed because before it was a matter of finding "something".. if it looked half decent and it fit! I got it. And as you say, there really wasn't too much to chose from. Now there's all this choice! LOL AND you can actually pick things based on how good they look and feel instead of "it's something." I'm having to learn to shop. Not just because of my new body, but also just to figure out how to do it given the new choices of things AND stores!!! :-) Happy shopping ladies!!! 1 ShouldBlittler reacted to this
hadouni 301 Posted February 21, 2012 What a great accomplishment! Congratulations. I tried on some old 18Ws the other day and they were tight but I could get them on. I like my clothes loose so I'll try again in 10lbs or so. My body is so different now because I've had a baby since I was a size 18 and I'm thicker in the area between my hips and waist :/ . My size 38 bras are going around me again too, but C cup just doesn't wrangle in the girls any more.
*susan* 1,709 Posted February 21, 2012 I remember discovering that exact same thing at a Kohl's. I literally sat down and started crying with happiness when I realized clothes in the plus size section were now all to big for me. Congratulations, I know what a fabulous feeling that is! Interesting you said that "also just to figure out how to do it given the new choices of things and stores". I was thinking about that as I walked throuhg the Galleria on Westheimer here in Houston. It is a huge mall and has just about anything you can imagine. You can get a fad dress for 35$, you can buy a business suit for $5000. I was thinking to myself that soon there will be so many choices, and I burn out shopping so easily. I wonder if it will be the same when I can actually pick and choose where I shop. 1 mnbsleeve reacted to this
