DrewsLou 3 Posted August 1, 2006 So I went in for my third fill today. The doc couldn't aspirate anything back into the syringe! My band was empty! This happened with my first fill of 1cc also. My last fill on June 19 was 1.5cc's and now that's just gone? WTF? The doc told me I might have a leaky band. What the hell am I supposed to do now? The doc said that we could go ahead full bore and do a flouro and stuff and see if he can see where it's leaking and whatnot or I could just come in monthly and get filled. I don't know what to do. I am exactly 3 months out today and am self pay and my covered after care ended today! How's that for friggin timing?? Any advice/ideas?? Peace.
DrewsLou 3 Posted August 2, 2006 Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
MerryHearted 20 Posted August 2, 2006 For me it would depend on whether I was losing weight and/or hungry all the time. If I were still losing and maintaining fullness between meals, I'd just wait awhile. Are you feeling more restricted after the fills? Otherwise I'd be getting prices for a fluoro and/or barium swallow and saving my pennies I guess. Sorry this happened to you.
DrewsLou 3 Posted August 2, 2006 I just got done eating dinner and had two stuffed shells, a meatball and part of a sausage and feel no restriction whatsoever. I guess I will be calling the doc tomorrow to explore my options!
Constance 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Oh no, girl, no! Ok, first off, do you have a VG band? I have read some stuff about the VG band taking some time to "prime" and some of the fill lingering in the segments. (The VG band is segemented and the others are smooth.) Don't panic! You have lost a bunch of weight already and that totally rocks! But I know, you want to keep losing and all. I would totally get the flouro ASAP. Also, they can fill the band with a Fluid that shows up under flouro (not saline) and can see exactly where a leak is, if there is one. That totally sucks about the 3 months being up -- but don't you think Dr. K will help you out with the flouro?
LindaV 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Oh no, my fellow May Bandster! I hope you don't have a leak! I will most definately keep you in my prayers! Let us know what happens.
