Stalled After One Week?!?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 2/8 and the first week I dropped ten pounds. And that's it! I have been stalled

At 230 for almost a week now (since Monday) I have been sticking to the plan. I know there is a 3 wk stall but at one week? Really? I can't help but to feel discourage and ask myself if I put my body through all of this for just 10lbs. I know I am whinning and I apologize but I really need to vent. Everyone keeps asking me if I have lost more weight and I really haven't :-(

STEP AWAAAAAAY FROM THE SCALE!!!! I REPEAT: STEP A W A A A A A A A Y Y Y FROM THE SCALE! Give your body a month to level out before you start obsessing. Don't get caught in that trap. Stick to the plan like you are and your body will do what it's supposed to do. Widen your scope. It will happen....It WIIILLLLLL happen!! ok? Just breathe...... ;)

You will probably stall many times, please don't worry about it. Just stick with the plan and you will be okay.

I had surgery on the 9th. I lost a pound on day 3 then nothing until day 8. I've always been a slow loser so, I wasn't surprised.

I think it takes time for body to adjust.

I know the feeling, I finally did lose 1 more pound the past day or 2 and I was sleeved the 6th. But I can say I have lost inches, I wore a shirt last nite I've only worn maybe once or twice before when I weighed alittle less than I weigh now. The last time I was going to wear it the sleeves were way too tight and I looked stuffed into it. I have upped my Water and Protein so I'm hoping I'm one of those who lose better on the higher end of the calorie scale? ?? I know it's sooo aggravating!!!! But just think in a few months it will all be worth it ...as long as the scale continues down how ever slow it maybe ... WE still are better off than before!

I am so glad I found this topic!

I refuse to get discouraged. I have educated myself enough on this forum to know that if you eat right and implement excerise when possible that you will lose weight. I must say, I could easilyget quite down about it, if I did not know better.

I was sleeved 2/04. Counting pre op diet I went down as much as 28 lbs. This entire last week which would mean a 1 1/2 weeks out, I been up and down the same 3 lbs. I got as low as 202 and now sit today at 204. It is a bummer. I am done weighing myself daily, to much anxiety about it. I will start with once a week and if that does not work then once a month.

I didn't loose any weight the first week or so. Don't freak out, look at what you used to eat at just one meal alone! You have to loose the weight, it's a scientific fact. Your body will let go of the weight when it needs too. I loose then stop, I don't call it a stall, I just stop. then all of a sudden, I'll loose 5 pounds. Like others here stated, STAY OFF THAT scale. I only weigh myself once a week, I don't need the head games playing with me anymore. Did all that before this surgery. LOL

Good Luck, you will be just fine, and a hell of alot thinner n a few short weeks, I promise.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
