I was just curious what your recovery was like? I'm trying to schedule my surgery around my husbands 5days off and my friends wedding. I've been told I probably won't have any issues with recovery because of my experience with 4c sections and they were all very very large babies. This surgery compared to the above will be a "walk in the park". I have a very high pain tolerance. One of my sections was a 12lb 23in premature baby that was breaking my pelvic bone and I was up walking around within hrs of my surgery just to give you an idea of pain I've tolerated well. My concern is if I have the surgery on a Wed will I be able to be in a wedding 10 days later?

I definitely think you will be able to go to the wedding. I think that the must difficulty you will experience is perhaps feeling nausea and your incisions may hurt. They get you up at the hospital to walk, walk, walk. This is a walk in the park compared to 4C sections. Just remember to sip, walk and rest. 10 days post op you should be feeling much better if you remember those three things. Good luck

Hey

the one thing you will find out amongst all other sleevers - is we're all different, Each of us have our own experiences to share.

In my case, i did well, no pain except the first 3 nights. no gas Difficult getting all my Water down. Thinks got better daily..

others have surgery friday - and others have barerly any pain - go back work on Tuesday.

best wishes

kathy

then there are some people suffer problems for a longer time period. pretty well. As far as trying to schedule your surgery between your events, well that could be more tricky. Good luck with that.

Don't want to sugar coat, but changes will happen slowly from maybe not perfect - to hopefully great.

I think the only problem you will have being in the wedding 10 days post op is the dress may be a little baggy...good luck on your journey!

I don't know if I would compare this surgery to my C-section. I actually had very little pain with this. The problems I've had-post op are diarrhea and weakness/exhaustion. If you take your Protein and Vitamins faithfully, you will feel much stronger than if you don't. As long as the bride is understanding about you maybe not being able to stand for long periods for photos, etc., you should be fine. Just don't push yourself too hard. It IS major surgery!

This is a "oh, did I have surgery?" compared to a c-section. It was also much easier than having my gallbladder out laproscopicly. I am out 4 days and have had very, very little discomfort. I have no bruising and have already walked 8miles (leaving my husband tagging along behind). Just know that at first it is VERY difficult to get the fluids in, so be careful that you don't over do it on such a small amount of hydration and nutrition. Hope you are better by then..Best wishes

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
