7 Days Post Op With Stuck Feeling In Throat

Recommended Posts

Help! I am 7 days post op. Have been well so far. Getting my liquids down fine. Last night took my pepcid half tab, but didn't cut it again like I normally do. Since then I have had a feeling of something stuck at the bottom of my throat/top of stomach. I can still drink and all, just this sensation. I can't imagine it is still this pill, as it should have disolved by now. Any tips??

I know this sounds simple - but walk around for a few minutes. I was sleeved 22 days ago & find that this helps & takes my mind off of the instant panic that sets in when something gets stuck !

It's going to be like that for a while...its "full". Doesn't take much to get there at the point your at. I still feel that way when I eat that last bite. I am a month and 1/2 out about. Your swollen insides can't hold much and don't have much motility. It sounds normal to me but listen to your body. And always contact your surgeon if your concerned.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
