Hope it's a one time thing. Any advice? Anyone else had this? Help!!
Joiebean 53 Posted February 15, 2012 My doc said the same thing. He is going to determine tomorrow whether its necessary. But he said if I keep gurgling, then he will probably do it, which has continued since my last visit. Doesn't seem to scary from what the surgeon says, but then he has a warpped sense of pain. KellyL 173 Posted February 15, 2012 That doesn't sound fun at all!! But the positive is, you SHOULD stop throwing up afterwards? I hope you feel much better soon!!
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted February 15, 2012 Sounds very scarey for me. Are they going to sedate you? Hope so. Good luck! It will be nice to not have the nauseousness and vomiting!
Rootman 1,101 Posted February 15, 2012 I've had to have it done 3 times, not due to stomach strictures but to a schatzki ring, that is a narrowing of the esophogus. For me it never was a permanant fix and I had issues with it till just prior to my pre-op diet. Now that I am eating less, chewing more and not eating as fast I suspect that I still have it but the it is no longer an issue. Before, if I ate too fast - and I ALWAYS ate too fast - it would feel as though I was choking and I would sometimes "vomit" up what I'd just eaten. Not true vomit as it never made it into my stomach, it just got caught right at the bottom of the esophogus. Anyway, it is quick simple and painless. They SHOULD give you something to make you loopy and make you drink some slime that numbs your throat.
