My New Tummy Is 2 Weeks Old Today! Thanks Dr. Garcia!

Recommended Posts

I've lost 23 pounds since surgery and although I cannot see it or feel it, my scale is not lying to me. I am sooo tired of Soup and this weekend I graduated myself to fish and other mushy watery foods with no problems.

People at work are wondering how I bounced back so quickly and why do I look so good and fresh. Ummm how am I supposed to look, like the Grim Reaper?

I am so proud that I pulled this off and made this change for the better. I know I am just at the beginning and I have a looong way to go, but in two weeks I've managed to get back to the weight I was when I went to get the lapband. That was my mini goal and I made it! Yay!

I named my new tummy Banny (like belly but prounounced Ban ne) lol I know ya'll are laughing at me, but most importantly ya'll are laughing with me. Thanks for the encouragement and a place where we all have something in common. --Raja and Banny :Banane59:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
