nraeh 23 Posted February 13, 2012 Since I have had my surgery I have had so many people volunteer to give me excuses as to why they can't lose weight. I tell them I only have one reason as to why I was so heavy. I ate too much of the wrong foods. That is the only reason I have. It seems like everyone wants to justify to me their situation. I don't ever say anything to them about their weight but they seem to think they need to let me know their situation. I get amused sometimes and a little irritated at other times listening to all those crazy excuses. I could probably write a book. On another note, I went to my dentist the other day and after he had worked on me for two hours he asked if he could take a picture of me. He said the picture they had in my file did not look like me. They sent me a copy of the two pictures. I'll try to attach them below. I am not at goal but I have lost 142 lbs and have about 52 yet to go. I could not possibly be more pleased with the results of my surgery. I have had absolutely NO complications and I can eat whatever I want to eat - just not much of it. I can't say enough good things about the VSG. It has changed my life forever. 3 lookingahead, Pookeyism and sleeve 4 me reacted to this
lyndynojo 140 Posted February 13, 2012 That is so true! I was at zumba with a friend that I went to high school with and we were both skinny then and she asked me what weight I wanted to get to and I said 150, so she says to me " I will never weight 150 again because I have too much muscle." what!?!? does she really believe that she has 150 lbs of muscle and only 35 lbs of everything else. I just said i guess that would make it tough, LOL what can you do?
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted February 13, 2012 It is possible to not realistically be able to be at 150 and have the muscle mass you want to be at. If I were at 10% BMI and have the mass I had in high school, I would be way over 150. But I trained for bulk muscle. But I know what you mean - my high school days are over. I haven't even set a weight yet. My sister is up to (!) a size 9 (she was always underweight and I was always over)and she is two inches shorter than me and weighs about 180, so who knows. IowaAndy 95 Posted February 13, 2012 WOW....truly amazing photos. You look so healthy and I am sure that you are feeling a lot better. I am sure that by now people have begun to treat you differently also. That is the most amazing part to me as I have not changed as a person inside but the exterior dictates how so many people treat you.....expecially when you are overweight and not considered the norm. Thanks for sharing. 1 nraeh reacted to this
