Oh Boy. This Could Get Ugly.

Recommended Posts

I'm 6 days out tonight and have started to run a fever around 102. Doc has me on Tylenol until tomorrow as long as I don't have any increasing pain. If the pain gets worse or the fever doesn't respond to Tylenol- to the ER I go.

And I am pretty much shitting myself. Leaking has been the one aspect of this surgery that scared me the most. Here's to hoping my body is just having a hard time adjusting!

Best of luck, lady. I haven't been feeling quite 100% myself for the past few days, so perhaps there's just a bug going around.... and not a leak!

Bedhead generally with a bug you do not have pain? I am nervous for you darlin, I will say a prayer for you.

If you have not been feeling better the last couple days and now fever, not sounding good. I am shocked your doc is willing to let you go through the night. Personally, I would not wait. I almost blew it big time with my abscess by waiting fortunately caught it before the infection burst into my peritoneal cavity.

With a fever you could also dehydrate. Please keep sipping.

If you are freaking out, be safe and go to the ER. Yes, it a pain, but at least your feel better knowing. Your health is #1. Hoping it's ok. ;)

I agree with the above. It's worth the peace of mind to have it evaluated now rather than waiting.

I definitely would not wait - even if its not a leak and say a flu bug, you could easily dehydrate and be in a bit of trouble. I'd go to the ER.

Oh, I hope it's nothing, but better to check and be sure, IMO. Good luck!! ((Hugs))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
