carbgrl 119 Posted February 12, 2012 The liquid lortab tastes so bitter to me. It's hard for me to get down.
Candice1222 1 Posted February 12, 2012 I did not know Benadryl was highly addictive. Good thing I stopped taking it.
circa 333 Posted February 12, 2012 Good to know but I am not sure why people rob pharmacies for this, it barley touches my pain just makes me sleepy The extended release oxy, if you chew it apparently gives you a heroin-like high. I guess that's why, but I still don't understand it - jump out of an airplane -gives the same high
gmanbat 5,889 Posted February 12, 2012 I got Omeprazole to keep away heartburn and Lortab. That's it except for my blood pressure meds and a small D3 capsule that I now take. I have chewable multi-vitamins, (Celebrate) and chewable Calcium, (Calcet).
gmanbat 5,889 Posted February 12, 2012 People's tastes are different, aren't they? I actually like the taste of Lortab. I guess it could be a conditioned response, I know I'll feel better and will be in a better mood after dosage. At one time in my life I liked smoking and wiskey, too. :ack2:

Darla5060 68 Posted February 13, 2012 I was sent home with liquid Lortab (1 tbsp. every six hours as needed), Simethicone (gas-x), Prevacid. I didn't have any nausea, so I didn't need anything for that...that's scary that you had to tell the nurse to cut a pill up! Hope you're doing better today, hun. goldenraisin214 142 Posted February 13, 2012 I too was given the lortab elixir...it is a bit--tangy, but it seems to kick in pretty quickly. I'm day 4 now, and I do feel better than yesterday...I was Rxd levsin, I think, but I haven't taken it yet cuz the pharmacy didnt have it and had to wait for today to ask the doc if a substitute was ok...gasx strips in the meantime...Hope you start to feel better soon! circa 333 Posted February 13, 2012 I was given naproxen - which is just aleve, but I didn't have any pain and didn't have ANY pain meds whatsoever after leaving the hospital, which was the day after surgery. I feel really bad for people that have a lot of pain with surgery - I'm very fortunate that i don't - everyone gets a different amount of pain and everyone handles pain differently. I'm kinda glad I wasn't given anything stronger - when I had surgery last time, I was given norco - I ended up turning that in to an expired prescription thingy at the hospital after it expired. nicmack31 18 Posted February 14, 2012 Taking aleve after surgery is not a great idea. It is an antiinflammatory and they are very hard on the stomach. I am on day 6. On day 4 I wanted to die and completely regretted having surgery. It is still a struggle, I am tired, sore, etc, but it is SOO much better in just the 2 days. I was given liquid lortab, hycosamine (Levsin), famotidine and zofran for nausea. The Levsin has been my friend. Helps the gas bubbles a lot!
Meredit 15 Posted February 14, 2012 OMG, I am so scared, I took the Alieve because the nurses told me to! I called my doctor today because of all my issues and told her what meds I was on and she said NO to alieve, what if I caused an ulcer!?!?!?! My gas pains are a lot better after the Milk of Magnesia. nicmack31 18 Posted February 14, 2012 It would typically take more time than just a few days with the aleve...but the nurse should NOT had told you to take it. I wish you a better tomorrow!
Meredit 15 Posted February 14, 2012 Although I thought the nurses were awesome at the time I am realizing they didn't know what was going on Thanks for your well wishes!!
