Darn tracker I can’t figure out how to update it so here are my new numbers. I have to admit I felt disappointed that I didn’t lose more, but then I thought when was the last time you lost that much in such a short time?

Highest weight 303

Weight day of surgery 12/1/11 287

1/3/12 260 down 27 lbs

2/10/12 249 down 11 lbs

Also I need help with my Water, if I’m being honest I’m only getting about ½ in what can I do?

I will sit down at the end of the day and focus just on that if I have to - even if I only get in an extra 8 oz or so it's better than nothing. Just be very careful to not get too much too quickly - that can hurt.

Popscicles (sp?) are very good too. I will let myself have a few bullet-type pops - it feels really good on my tummy, and it count's as fluids.

You do best going through the day sip, sip, sipping along, lol.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Here is what I do for the water:

I have 20 oz Water bottles I set my mind to drinking 3 minimum. Whenever I am watching TV, or on the computer I will take out a water bottle and slowly drink it. I keep the bottle in my hand and don't put the cap back on, It usually takes me 15-20 minutes to drink one. If I set the bottle down I forget about it, thats why I keep it in my hand, and un capped. Just remember not to gulp, sometimes I will use a straw and the Water disappears fast.

Congrats--you're doing great!

I've also had problem with getting enough Water. Seems like that's hard for a lot of us. I've just found a good solution for me, which might work for you, too. I bought a 64-ounce water bottle on Amazon (I think it was $8, made by Blue Wave), and I take it with me to work, school, and gym. It's a great visual reminder of how much I have left to go, and it's super convenient.

I track my Water throughout the day and try to get in the following:

Before breakfast: 1 1/2 cup - I drink soymilk so that's one cup down. And 1/2 cup Water to take my pills.

By lunch time: 2-3 more cups: One 16 oz. water bottle if I'm on the go and one hot drink (tea, hot water, Decaf coffee)

Afternoon, between lunch and dinner: 3 cups: Pretty much the same as a.m,. plus 1/2 cup water for my pills

After dinner: 1 cups

I try to get no more than 1 cup behind. Then I just have 2 cups after dinner instead of one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
