I was sleeved on 2/6 also. Feeling ok, learning what I can and cannot drink, but having a horrible constant gas like pain right in the middle of my chest. I'm calling my dr today since it's becoming bothersome.

So far I've had blended Soup, cream of chicken, cream of wheat Cereal, fauxsagna (ricotta cheese sprinkled with garlic with a spoon of spaghetti sauce on top) and half an ounce of 50x chewed scrambled eggs.

I can barely take a few bites of any one thing, but the cream of wheat went down SOOOO well!

Had my 1st post op visit today and got the dang drain out! soooo glad of that. No problems so far, been able to drink good and started full liquids yesterday.

Dr, said everything is looking good! He did send me to have a CBC and a UA though since my pulse was high and my temp was 99.2. They were fine though I think I was just nervous to have the drain out LOL

With the preop and post op weight loss I"m down #15... so that works for me, wish it was more but hey it will keep going down...and I will be where I wanna be in no time :) keeping my eye on the prize !

Hi. I go for my check up tomorrow. I hope he takes the drain out!!! I'm on 2 Optifast shakes a day plus Jello, broth, and Water. Can't wait to try new foods. I was sleeved also on the 6th. Everything went great except I got a urinary tract infection. I have never had one before. Great luck to everyone!!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
