ShouldBlittler 89 Posted February 10, 2012 Would you do it again? Why or why not? When did you have the surgery? I'm in the process for surgery, but the more I am reading on here, the more I realize that I need more information. Thanks in advance, Melissa 1 Meljp reacted to this
Lissa 2,631 Posted February 10, 2012 Every day of the week and twice on Sunday!! My surgery saved my ever-lovin' life, so I'm always gonna say yes!!! YES!!
Bedhead 158 Posted February 10, 2012 I had surgery on Monday- so its been 3 days for me. I haven't started to enjoy any of the benefits of the surgery yet but already I can say I would do it again! I have a very definite sensation of restriction and I'm still on fluids- I can't imagine what it would be like with solids!
circa 333 Posted February 10, 2012 In a heartbeat. I'm 2 weeks out and already feeling so much better than I was prior to surgery.

peacequeen 434 Posted February 10, 2012 I'm at the beginning of my journey even though I had my surgery on Dec. 27th. I had a leak,,was on tpn (fed by iv) for 3 weeks,,that meant no food or fluids,,at all. I gained 13 of the 24 pounds I had lost in 2 weeks,,,that stunk. I was asked if I had regrets and at that time I said yes,,I think I do. But then I got to go home,,was still on tpn so I was swinging between regret and maybe not regret. Then they took me off tpn and in 9 days I lost those 13 pounds so now I'm back to where I was..feeling pretty good,,losing weight,,still learning to eat but saying all of that..I would do this again. You're doing the right thing by asking lots of questions and doing your research. Complications happen but alot less than the successes. 1 longer-life reacted to this
PreciousCargo 55 Posted February 10, 2012 I wouldnt say I regret it, but it is hard to adjust... the whole process. My focus nowadays is drinking and Protein. Who has time for enjoying anything else. I havent even begin walking due to leg cramps. I havent lost any weight since the first week. I do like the restriction, even though my eyes want more. You should fully educate yourself. The beginning is the hardest. Good luck
IowaAndy 95 Posted February 10, 2012 I would do it again twice. I am 8 weeks out and down 35 pounds. If I would not have had the surgery who knows I may have gained another 25 pounds over the holidays. I did not even miss all the food that was around. peacequeen 434 Posted February 10, 2012 btw..I guess I should say I'm a success too,,even though I had complications. That was a bumpy ride but my sails are rising and things are smoothing out. I'm so excited to start my new life. 24 pounds doesn't sound like alot but I got that much off and my breathing is better,,my ankles aren't hurting as much..I'm seeing the little differences. (sorry for the 2nd message,,I just forgot to say some things.lol) 1 sabrina140 reacted to this
massindex 346 Posted February 10, 2012 I would do it again in a heartbeat! I retook control of my life instead of the food controlliing me. The limits the sleeve has placed on me forced me to make the lifestyle changes I needed, I'm SOOO much happier now. I just finished my second half-marathon with only 3 weeks turnaround and now I'm entering Sprint Triathlon season. There are so many things open to me now that I wouldn't have tried before. I'm like a kid in a candy store (pun intended). My wife saw what it did for me and she just had her sleeve done 2 weeks ago. We are going to be skinny together! longer-life 139 Posted February 10, 2012 Yes, I would do it again. I have never had a moments regret. I am only beginning my journey (week 11 I think) and I have this overall sense of well being and happiness that is difficult to describe. It is like a huge boulder has been lifted off my shoulders. Only now am I realizing to what extent my obesity dictated where I would go on vacations, the car I drive, what clothes I used to wear and much more! It robbed me of my energy and it started to rob my health. I had enough of that! That is why I would go through this process over and over again if I had to. ocean_ophelia 31 Posted February 10, 2012 At this point, I would have to say no. I had no complications but I've been nauseous for weeks, even though seemingly nothing is "wrong." I feel like crap. Yeah, I've lost weight, but it's hard to live this way.
