FranR 3 Posted February 9, 2012 I am about 3 months pre-op for my sleeve. The nut said my meds need to be crushed for a few weeks post-op. All of my pressure meds websites say do not crush. Some of them are big. Any advice is appreciated.
sunnydaysahead 3 Posted February 9, 2012 Talk to your primary care doctor. If what you are taking can't be crushed they should be able to give you an alternatiive. Just a warning, the taste of the crusched pills is nasty. I mix mine in a small amount of sugar free pudding and they go down much easier. Best of luck to you
mnbsleeve 87 Posted February 9, 2012 I agree with Sunny. I would talk to your surgeon and/or MD. Many meds cannot be crushed and warn against it. Also, I know lots of people on this board that resume their medicine regime after surgery - without a problem. In terms of vitamines, you can get liquid or chewables, same with Calcium. Otherwise, I would not crush anything on the advise of my NUT. Best of luck with this! Let us know what you find out.
