Hi , I Am Home And Feeling Great!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I made it home from Mexico. I feel fantastic. Gas is a little heavy, I am slow at getting in some fluids but overall life is good. Our flight was layed over in Houston so we did not get home and in bed until 3am but all is well. I will write more later this afternoon, time for a nap...lol. I am so happy and most of all very thankful for all the prayers!!!!!

:)

One thing, the entire experience was much better than I would of ever expected, it was awesome.

Hello, I'm new here, but glad to find this site & read through people's experiences. I just got my sleeve on January 31, 2012 and have already lost 7lbs. I am struggling to get enough Protein in my diet & usually end up eating only 2 meals a day. I have one more week of liquids & am looking forward to eating 'real" food, rather than just Protein Drinks. I am getting so I can't choke down the protein drinks anymore (before the surgery I would just drink them fast so I couldn't taste them as much, blech).

Any suggestions?

Glad to hear it went well. I am right in front of you at day 7 post op. I am doing good too. I have had no nausea or vomiting! Lots of gurgling though, which is annoying. I will know how much I lost tomorrow at my first post op visit. Cant wait to eat normal food. I am a little worried that I feel like I could eat anything..ugh Dont want to get myself in trouble.

Who did your surgery?

Dr. Kelly in Mexico did mine.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
