lovePINK 31 Posted February 8, 2012 This head hunger is really annoying me today. I REALLY want to eat something. I'm on full liquids, nothing is satisfying me. Starting to feel really helpless. I just want a turkey sand which soooo bad!!! Fml!
Afro_Cyster 74 Posted February 8, 2012 Try some sugar free popsicles. It'll give your hands and mouth something to do.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted February 8, 2012 This will pass, just hang in there. Here comes a big hug for you. When was your sleeve? How much weight have you lost?
Rootman 1,101 Posted February 8, 2012 Are you on a PPI like Nexium? It may be ACID that's making you feel hungry. While it's true that a majority of the portion of stomach cut away reduces the amount of acid production, what's left may still over run the small sleeve space and make you feel "hungry" or cause GERD. Ask you doc about it next time.
Itsanewdaycassandra 45 Posted February 8, 2012 I felt the same way, but it got better after I added the PPI to my routine and also SF Jello is good you and kind of chew it, I saw on some site the you can make Jello with chicken stock and I thought of doing it but never did instead I mixed unflavored Unjury with chicken stock and it helped. Hang in there; it will get better... you are only 5 days out.
hadouni 301 Posted February 8, 2012 It was about day 5 for me too and I was on perscription heartburn meds so it wasn't acid for me! It was finally being around other eating and seeing/smelling food. I was sleeved on a Monday and by Saturday I was ready for something more than liquids. I upped my consumption of strained Soups mixed with broth when this started for me. It was kind-of a head trip to strain out and dispose of all the solids from a $2 can of Soup, but it was so much more satisfying than just broth and was a recommendation from my surgeon. The full liquids will help- split pea soup and campbles V8 makes some good soups in green boxes- I liked the broccoli soup. Good luck! It'll be past soon! lovePINK 31 Posted February 8, 2012 I have had SF Jello and SF Popsicles... The coldness of the Popsicles don't agree with my sleeve... Gives me spasms.
lovePINK 31 Posted February 8, 2012 I'm not on a ppi... Is protonix one? I was prescribed that but couldn't fill it cuz my insurance wouldn't cover it.
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted February 8, 2012 Are you hydrated? Dehydration can make you feel kinda-hungry, head hungry, etc.
