You body will have to get rid of all the fluids they have put into you. Strangely now the more you drink, the faster they will flush out. Keep the Protein between 70-90 grams and the Water ... what was it? at least 72 oz. and the pounds will come off.

Yeah, what Moon said. I have heard that some people actually gain a few pounds during the first week. Not sure if that is due to the swelling or what. You'll be losing weight real fast so don't worry. Good luck!! :)

You're 4 days post-op. You know all those bags of IV's they dumped into you? Those all need to come out still. Your body tissue is swollen from being poked and prodded in. Your body is adjusting to the changes - its not going to be all that ready to let go of anything excess until it starts to heal. its quite normal to not have lost anything yet - and even normal to have actually gained. Ditch the scale for at least a week.

Oh and dont' panic if you get your period and the scale goes up again - totally normal. Just get your liquids in - once your body realizes that you're going to keep giving it what it needs, it'll give up all the excess. Just be prepared to pee a lot! Make sure you have plenty of toilet paper in the bathroom! haha

I gained 6 lbs in the hospital. Came home and started my period (sorry TMI, I know) gained another 3 lbs. Went to my 1 week post up follow up appt and lost all of that after a week. I was sleeved 1/27/12, and had my 1 week follow up on 2/3. I stepped on the scale this morning and had lost another 8 lbs from Friday.

It will happen.

Oh my gosh circa when my bf was with me he was like why do you keep peeing you haven't eaten anything... I was like Niagra falls he kept saying " you know I love you right!" when he was holding my pee bucket lol! I said " yes....I know ::blank stare::" .

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
