Oh Well Hit That Wall Again!

Recommended Posts

It wasn't ment for me! I did the diet; drink the laxative; went in got undress; wait three hours then got dress and went home at 3pm. I now must see another doctor again. This time I don't know when it will happen because I will have to start over. So will be falling off the wagon for tonight I will eat last night superbowl left overs. I have been behaving myself since I started this journey and no matter how much I watch what I eat how much exercise I do I just can't catch a break.

Good Luck every one else

I'm so sorry, I know it must be disappointing and discouraging! What kind of test are they wanting you to have? Was there a problem? Hoping you hear good news to move forward soon!

I'm interested in what caused the change. Is there a health problem? Please let us know. Sorry you have to go through all this. It will be worth it after the surgery is done. Getting to that point is stressful and frustrating. ;)

Well according to the anesthesiologist I need to see a vascular doctor for a slight blockage in my brain. Which was found in Dec 2010 I have been see a Neuro for a good year regarding it and he suggested this anesthesiologist for the surgery she was a specialist that can handled this type of situation. Well at the end I was sent home to see a vascular or neurosurgeon to make a choice what is next. As I explained before by the time I see these doctors I will have missed my chance and start all over again. So for now this thought is left for the back burner. I need a job and school to finish! I will try to hang on to the last ounce of good health I have.

Taking care of the neurological thing comes first. This is your health and later on you will be able to take care of VSG. Hope things start turning around for you. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
