Hi everyone. I have an email and a phone call in to my doctor about this, but haven't heard back yet. I thought that I'd bounce this off all of you...

I've had back pain on my left side since I woke up from my surgery 13 days ago. I assume this pain is related to the surgery, but it has not lessened at all. I also still have a great deal of trouble keeping any Protein down - could vomiting be aggravating this pain? I take the pain meds at night (liquid generic hydrocodone) to help me rest, but can't take that during the day.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks so much for listening!

My pain is in the middle of my back - just started (I am four weeks out) They took me off all arthritis meds so I am thinking this is the issue -

I crunch up a tylenol which helps but does not stop the pain.

I feel as though my body alignment is off - which could be true as my stomach is alot smaller.....

Hmmmm...I was pretty much back to normal at day 13. Have you been throwing up a lot? I hate to throw the "L" word at you, but I am assuming they did a leak test on you? Have you gone back for your post-op appointment yet? The pain should pretty much be gone by now, maybe just tender, but we are all different. Keep us informed of what the Dr. says. Best of luck!

Thanks for reading this, guys.

Vance - they kept me in the hospital (Forest Park in Dallas) for an extra day because of my nausea and vomiting. They did an upper GI and everything looked fine. I only vomit the Protein Drinks. broth, Water, etc. stay down okay.

This is just puzzling and frustrating. I hope that Dr. Nicholson's office gets back to me today!

Alot of people have said that they use Unjury in their broths and are able to keep it down. Just a thought. Sad that your having all these pains. It will get better. ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
