rahnava 30 Posted February 5, 2012 I finished a cup of coffee about 30 minutes ago and now i feel dizzy and lethargic. I didn't see anything about not having coffee and I even put some Protein Powder in it. I make 1 week sleeved on tomorrow. I think I need to lay down for a while and sip on Water. This is an awful feeling. Coffee is officially off of my list!!! :nonod:
Lilee84 648 Posted February 5, 2012 Probably a good idea... My surgeon said no coffee period for one month, and no caffeinated tea for a month. I'm assuming it was caf?
christin 54 Posted February 5, 2012 I also was not allowed caffeine for a month. Just tried a cup a few days ago and no longer like it. That was a shock!
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted February 5, 2012 I'm not suppose to have any caffeine either. I also think it makes us hungry. IDK LOL
Punkypoo 9 Posted February 5, 2012 I'm surprised your Dr ok that one. My Dr said no to that for awhile. Especially if it was caffeinated! I would urge you to eliminate from diet all together as there is no redeeming quality to it anyway Water water water
Tai29 17 Posted February 6, 2012 My surgeon also told me to avoid coffee any any othe caffinated products. I was told these will irritate your sleeve and on the off chance that it does not irritate your sleeve, caffeine is a stimulate which will often promote feelings of hunger even if your sleeve is satisfied and you're not hungry which can ultimately lead to over eating. That alone was enough for me to totally avoid anything with caffeine.
rahnava 30 Posted February 6, 2012 Ok so I laid down and sipped Water and I feel better. Maybe I missed that section of my post op diet information. I needed the boost to catch up on schoolwork from being out with surgery. Boy did I pay for that. Don't try this at home kids. I learned from this mistake. dramagirl28 22 Posted February 6, 2012 Definitely no caffeine (my doc said for six weeks). I started drinking Decaf coffee at six weeks and it really hurt my stomach. Curiously, regular coffee does not, so I switched back, but can only handle 1 cup per day and often can't finish it. On the flip side, caffeine-free herbal tea sits great with me but black tea kills my stomach even now at 5+ months out. If you can't kick the caffeine habit, at least wait a couple months before you give it another try.
