Anyone Having Problems Sleeping?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on January 31st and for the past 3 nights I just lay in bed and can't fall asleep. I finally dose off around 3 am and then wake up about 9:30 am. I have never had this problem in my life. Has this happened to anyone else and if so does it go away?

I came home from the hospital and I didn't sleep for 3 nights. I went to urgent care and had them change my Vicodin (loratab liquid) changed to Tylenol with Cod and was able to finally get some sleep. I told them at the hospital that vicodin hypes me up and they still prescribed it. I should have been a little more proactive. I had only taken l dose of the vicodin when I had gotten home due to a horrible headache. What meds are you taking? Can you call you doc's office tomorrow or go to urgent care. It is important to get our sleep for healing. Wish you luck, have a wonderful day. ;)

I haven't taken any pain meds since leaving the hospital as my first attempt at taking the liquid medication made me throw up. I will call the doctor's office tomorrow. Thanks

This topic has been written here many times. I too went through a period of waking in the early am around 2:00 - 3:00 for the day . Many have explained it to me as a symptom of ketosis which you actually want to be in to lose fat. It was about two weeks for me and now I 'm the opposite. I'm a good sleeper and find it difficult to roll off the bed in the am. I bought some Melatonin, but have never had to take one. I also try to get most of my Protein in by 3:00 pm as I had always had this issue with low carb diets. I wish you the best of luck in finding what works fr you.

Happy1957,

Thanks for giving me hope that it won't last long. Didn't want to think this would be a part of my new journey forever.

Sunny:

I was sleeved Dec. 27 and had similar sleeping problems even though I sleep with a CPAP for my sleep apnea. I'd wake up sometime during the night and be awake often for hours.

It does get better. I'm sleeping great now and hardly ever have to get up.

One of the things I did was get my liquids in early. I drink a 32 oz. Powerade Zero before Breakfast every morning and then the other two 16+ oz. drinks in the afternoon. That way, I don't have to worry so much about needing to hit the bathroom overnight, which takes away another thing that can wake you up.

I also wonder if sleeplessness has anything to do with the Vitamins you're taking after early on. I know that Vitamins can keep you up if you take them very late.

Hope that helps.

CC

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
