Lissa 2,631 Posted February 5, 2012 Pre and post-op lovenox self-injections, 1 week on each side. I had a clot and 2 pulmonary embolisms about 3 months previous to surgery. Matter of fact, I'm still on coumadin, although I was taken off of it for 1 month, then had to start taking it again. I had the horrible bruising as well. grannyk 58 Posted February 6, 2012 I had to give myself Lovenox for a week after my knee replacement due to decreased activity level, but I do not recall any anticoagulant either before or after my sleeve surgery. I was up and walking very quickly after the sleeve, so I guess there was not the concern for clots las with some other surgeries.
