Two Weeks Out And Feeling Really Full

Recommended Posts

So I was sleeved on January 23rd. I've been having my Greek yogurt just fine. So I decided to try a little mashed potatoes (I hate Soup in any shape or way). And the first time was fantastic....now it's been sitting in my chest. I just feel like anything I eat/drink just fills me up immediately. I think I have no hope of ever upping my calories enough to be successful. Did any of y'all feel that way or am I just being hella impatient? Thanks!

I'm almost 4 weeks out and posted a similar topic titled Restriction and Amount of food Tolerated. I've gotten a couple of responses but I'll follow this one also to see what answers you get.

Don't worry... it takes months to get over that part where you can only eat a few spoonfuls without feeling overly stuffed. In time your sleeve will loosen up (it is very swollen from surgery right now) and you will be able to nourish your body a little better. I still can't eat a lot but I'm more than able to fit in about 1100-1200 calories worth of healthy solid food every day. :)

HTH - there is a bonus to not being able to eat much though and your scale will show it.

I will be 2 weeks out on Wednesday and I can barely take a couple very small bites of Greek yogurt without feeling SOO VERY FULL! I measured out an ounce and I could only eat half. :/ I can't even get my required liquids and Protein in. I am getting in almost 30 ounces of liquids and 1 Protein Shake. The upside is I have lost 13 lbs in 11 days. =)

The thing is that the scale isn't moving. I'm at 218 lbs. I'm aware that there's a stall. But isn't this rather early for the infamous three week stall? I will not despair, I will not despair. Boo!

I have Muscle Milk Light in the morning...it takes me about two hours to finish it. I make it with 16 oz of Water because I do NOT like anything thick or shake like. Now, it's 1:46pm and I'm having some Oikos Greek Yogurt (0 fat)...it's really sweet and I don't really like it. I can't measure at work because I don't have a scale here. But I figure I'll have three ounces. Then I drink my Isopure Zero for the rest of the day at work. When I get home, I usually have two spoonfuls of mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and chicken broth to make it soup-like. And that's my whole day. Today, I think I'm going to try some tuna fish pureed with a tsp of mayo. We'll see how that goes.

I will not get on the scale til next week. I'm going to keep walking every day for 30 minutes (I'm going to up it to 40-50 a day) until I can go swimming and such. I hope that by next week, the scale will move favorably!!

Girls,I am in the same boat,I am 2 weeks out today and the scale has been stuck for almost 5 days now. I am only eating about 4 ozs of food a day, tops! I personally feel (in my case) it has to do with maybe not getting in enough Protein and fluids. I am walking for about 30 minutes a day. I can only fit in about 35 ozs of fluids, and maybe 40 grams of protein. Btw,Have u guys tried Sobe lifewater 0 calories?? YUMMO. I love the black and blue berry and the macintosh apple cherry. They have Vitamins in it and are so yummy. =)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
