ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted February 4, 2012 Hi fellow sleeves, sounds silly, every one talks about loving their sleeve, rockin the sleeve, I love my sleeve. Those expression,? what do really mean, even I love "my sleeve" I enjoy my WLS - but to refer to the sleeve as an animate object continuously sounds funny. weird question? By the way i know, i know - no question is silly, but...... thanx kathy
MeMeMEEE 206 Posted February 4, 2012 To me it would be the same as saying I love my new tummy. It is an object to me, it is what is left of my stomach, a sleeve of what it was, if that makes sense. That being said I don't refer to it that way myself! LOL
Charlotte 23 Posted February 4, 2012 It is a type of gastric surgery referred to as a sleeve (like a sleeve in a shirt) small tube extending from one end to the other. A large portion of the stomach is removed leaving this sleeve like tube. "Loving my sleeve" means loving my new stomach and it's shape at least for me. "Rock'n the sleeve" means I am losing weight and it's working great. I hope this helps. I love this type of gastric surgery.
Rootman 1,101 Posted February 4, 2012 For me "the sleeve" is the embodiment of the hope that I will FINALLY be free of the life threatening obesity driven lifestyle. To make it an object just makes it more personal and gives me a focal point to use to be a more heathy weight. I've been a slave to food and overewight, obese, morbidly obese and finally nearly super obese most all my adult life, so my sleeve is also my buddy, my pal and coming along with me on this fantastic journey. He hasn't let me down yet!
