I am scared to think about lunch everyday. I am a teacher and I have this fear about what to eat. I sometimes even cry. I am not sure what to do. It's just lunch, it's just food. I need suggestions. There are days where I make my lunch but someways I forget and stress. Please what do you do to manage this? Is anyone else like this?

I used to do this before surgery!

Don't stress. If you can get a small fridge WITH A LOCK, and a temperature gague that shows if the fridge gets too hot. That way you can bring extras, or bring stuff once a week, etc.

Does any of your fellow teachers know? Do you have one of those people who always bring leftovers? Perhaps you could offer a small amount of cash if they would bring enough for you too.

Soups! Soup, soup...bring several cans and stick it in a desk. Ditto for high calorie protien bars.

tuna "snacks" with the tuna and a whole grain cracker is good and store in a desk too. A bag of apples and a can of Peanut Butter. even just a can of mixed veggies.

There is always school lunches. if there isn't anything of quality there, perhaps it is time to bring that up to the school board. (!)

You say your afraid to eat lunch? or this any meal? Think in basic terms and keep it simple. If you forget your lunch, can you buy some lean lunch meats and cheese? Do you have a refrigerator at your school site for employees where you can keep some extra Protein for your lunches? Sorry about all the questions. My premise is to always keep it simple. I have stuff at my office that I can munch on that's really healthy. I also have Protein Drinks available to. ;)

lunch is simple. The easiest ever. No need to stress just plan it a bit more. My favorite lunch is turkey slices spread a bit of cream cheese wrap around a pickle. I could eat that every day. Stir fry some shrimp with olive oil and garlic, with diced tomatoes. Always cary a Protein bar/ready made shake in your purse if you end up forgetting. Whatever you ate for dinner, cook an extra portion or two.

Try the StarKist Sandwich Ready Albacore tuna in the pouch. Already prepared with mayo and very tiny pieces of celery. DOES NOT have to be refrigerated until open. It is 3 1/2 oz. so you should be able to get it all down anyway! Always keep WASA crackers. They are great with just about anything

I have a bento box. In one container goes the main Protein for lunch (ham, turkey, tuna, cheese whatever). In another container goes my cottage cheese I eat mid-morning. Into another container goes my low carb high Protein crackers (about and ounce) and into the another one goes a little salad or broccoli or some veggie or fruit. It even has a little container for dip/dressing. I make it hight protein with Peanut Butter or Greek yogurt. The bento boxes come with a cold pack which is stored in a nylon case like a laptop case.

This is what I got. They are fun:

I have to agree with the suggestion to keep a Protein Bar in your purse, or keep several in your desk if you have a desk that is all yours. It makes it much easier if you get caught without lunch for some reason. Most of the convenience stores down here carry some kind of Protein Shake, which gives a decent option if you are caught without lunch. The tuna packets are great, too. I keep one in my car at all times because I do a lot of travelling every day and the tuna pack is easy to put together just about anywhere.

They really do portion out things very nicely and they're so darn cute! There are cheaper versions, but since this is an everyday thing, I wanted to get what I liked best.

I am a teacher also, and I bought a Bento Box. I usually pack leftovers from the night before since I can't ever eat the entire amount. It's a good way not to waste food! If I don't have leftovers, I make some chicken salad from canned chicken and light mayo, egg salad, or tuna. I also love turkey meatballs with a few spoons of marinara sauce. You can just buy a jar of the sauce and keep it in the refrigerator. The smaller containers are great for cottage cheese or fruit. I agree, they are pricey, but definitely worth it since I use it all the time!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
