Where Are You 200+Er's?

jerseylocks, when I had my lapband I went from about 380 to about 250 (so close to your 130 lb loss) very quickly and almost effortlessly.

My body really liked 250. Liked, in an obsessive boyfriend who parks across from your bedroom window at 2am kind of way. I was at 250 for about... 18 months. I just could not go down. But I also did not go up. Then after about a year and a half, with me changing nothing, I lost about 15 pounds over the span of a few days. That's the mother stall if I've ever heard of one!

There's this medical mathematical law about calories. We know the goal is to eat fewer than you need. And a lot of people cite this as fact, and that's fine. But what they leave out is that everything has its patterns. A deficit of about 3500 calories is going to result in about 1 lb lost. That's the pure math of it. But if I eat 3500 calories a day, and I don't eat tomorrow, I've probably not lost a pound come Sunday. Math gives you your results "on demand" but weight take its sweet time. And keep in mind, there can be things going on that mask the weightloss (fluid changes, muscle bulk changes, maybe you have to poo <- you need neither confirm nor deny that one!)

Stick with it. You're not done unless you want to be.

Good day all... I am new to this site and came on here looking for sleevers that wanted to lose over 200 lbs. I was sleeved on 2/14/11 and have lost 130 lbs ( highest weight 433 lbs) but I have no lost weight in 4 months...I go to gym but am frustrated with being stuck at 300 lbs...I have no one to talk to or who understand ... Everyone says look how much you have lost but I want to loose abt 50 to 100lbs more

Hello all,

I was looking for this group for quite sometimes. I too have more than 200lb to lose, and would like to read your stories and share mine.

I was sleeved on March 11 and was hospitalized for 5 days. I did not have a pre-op diet, so all my loss is post-op.

The worst time (in terms of pains/discomfort) ever was the moment I woke in ICU, with different drains, canulas, and incredible pain.

I went into surgery at 9:30am, last clock glimpse I remember was 9:45. I woke-up in ICU at 19:30.

I was cold, very cold. they covered me with 2 blankets, and gave me some sedatives. First moment of relief came on the second day when they removed the tube/hose from my nose.

17 days post-op, I still feel some weak pain at the site of surgery (I have 11 wounds/laparoscope holes !!!). I shrinked a lot, but I feel weak. Although I am lighter, I have less energy.

Two days ago I started feeling a kind of pain in the left kidney. I think I have to drink more Water.

I am stil on my liquid diet.

Best think about the surgery is that I feel no hunger, and when I do, a sip of anything including Water, calms this hunger down.

Not only that, but I also stopped hallucinating about food : Pre surgery I was always hungry, and I always had day dreams about food. I had a grazing problem, starting 8pm I always ate something every 30-45 minutes, and it alternated between sweets and salty food. Whenever i saw a fast food ad on the TV, I immediately go to the kitchen and start a food frenzy !!!

I use to wake up in the middle of the night 2-3 times to eat.

But now, all that is HISTORY.

Cheers !!!

Checking in...I am 11days out and down 10 pounds since surgery. On full liquids and can't wait to move to the mushie stage. Surgery went great and have had little to no problems with it. I keep waiting for something to go wrong. Need to get my butt out and walking, I just don't seem to have much energy. How is everyone else doing?

I'm here, a measley 3 days post-op. Feeling about the same as I did right after band surgery, but with slightly different sensations. This surgery has, knock on wood, been very easy so far - except for an extremely painful allergic reaction to an unknown med(s).

One of my incisions is super puckered, like a button tuft. It has completely changed the shape of my stomach. That one hurts a lot. I don't really even notice the others (6 total).

Surgery was Tue. morning, I was discharged Wed, spent a few hours early Thu morning in the ER (allergic reaction), but spent the majority of Thu evening out & about, and was out shopping for about 5 hours today. Moving very slowly, though.

I don't know what my losses are. My NSV to date is getting rid of the pain from that allergic reaction. :) Still schlupping around in empire waist dresses (because they don't have waistbands) and flipflops (because button tuck incision makes me walk slightly hunched over, and how stupid would that be with heels), looking about as whiskey tango as I possibly can.

Although "easy" this process is a little frustrating. I lived with my lapband so long that I knew its signals and symptoms. Now I don't know what these sensations are telling me. It's kind of hard to be the "noob" again, not yet able to interpret what my body is telling me.

Don't wait for something to go wrong!!!! You're doing great!!! Didn't you postpose because you were moving? Or am I thinking of someone else? Or did you postpone for another reason? I don't remember...

I know, right??? I couldn't figure out WHAT I was feeling for the longest time!! It was really weird. Am I hungry? Am I full? What the heck??

Button tuck should straighten out. I had one that the skin was higher on one side of the incision than the other. Like a bubble. It flattened out though. I think....lemme look.......YEP! TOtally evened out. :)

Hey Dooter - yes I had postponed due to a house fire and I'm really glad I did. I was so not ready emotionally in February to go through this. I'm in a much better place now.

I'm still here! I'm crazy busy with this being the last month of the semester for me, my grandpa is about to die and I got a job, so I'm just a little crazy lately! My weight loss has slowed significantly and I think it's because of all the stress I've been under. I finally was able to get a gym membership, I just have been swamped and haven't had a chance to use it much. One more month of school for this semester though and I'm going to be right back at it! Also, my husband is hopefully going to be getting the surgery late May/early June!

Doing fine here. Just a pound shy of 135 lost since I started dieting in July last year. Being in the 280s is a wonder compared to my 420s life. My only frustration is a tendency to stall for several days just before any milestone  but everything keeps going down if I'm patient.

Running a bit anemic but otherwise my stats are looking pretty good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
