Liquid Vitamins?

Recommended Posts

I've had previous experience with a brand called Omnitrition - they have a liquid Vitamin called "Omni 4" that has GREAT absorbtion. With all the people on here, I'd guess someone has heard of that brand. Any feedback is appreciated.

What are "whole food" Vitamins? I guess I could just google it too.....

liquid vits. may absorb quickly BUT I have yet to find a liquid Vitamin that has as much Vitamins in it as does the pill form or chewable form. My pharmacist agrees....they just aren't as potent.

Littlebird,

I am a chiropractic student intern and the BEST liquid Vitamin is....Body Balance made by Lifeforce. I actually just ordered a gallon of it off the internet. It's amazing.....it's even helped people with cancer and major diseases. You can order it off the internet from many different sites. It is expensive but WELL worth it! It's funny because you and I have a lot in common. I will be having my surgery Aug. 22, 2006 and I weigh my highest wt. ever is 250 and my goal is 150. I am doing a gallbladder cleanse this week. and Clear liquids next week to get ready for my band. I AM SO EXCITED about getting healthy and fit and STAYING that way for LIFE!

Keep in touch

I just started using a liquid Vitamin from Glacial Milk. I don't know why it's called that, there is no milk or lactose in the product. In fact, it's citris flavored and has no sugar, no carbs, and no calories.

I've only been taking it for a few days so I'm not really noticing any difference yet but their label shows the nutrient quantity and their percentage of daily value. For most of the nutrients listed it's 100% or higher. It smells pretty 'vitamin-y' but it actually tastes OK, not the way it smells AT ALL. I was going to say it tastes pretty good but . . . lol, it's a vitamin! I'll put it this way: It's way less offensive than any other Vitamin I've tried. No vitamin-y burps either - blech! If you really can't tolerate it, it would probably all but disappear in a small glass of juice. I'm usually a big baby with how things taste and smell and I'm fine with this stuff.

I can't make the label info show up here without it spreading out all over the place and making NO sense so, check out their website for the nutrient information and their daily percentage values, www.glacialmilk.net.

Well I like this one so far - I had already ordered it - but it makes me queasy. I talked to the "supplier" today and she said take it with food. Tastes like vitaminy fruit juice. I'll try "food" and see what I feel like then.

I don't like the fact that it DOES have carbs so I'll look at some of your suggestions....

Also - at 98% absorption I would think it doesn't need as much as the pills that only absorb 10%...so less potent would make sense to me....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
