Refund From Garcia.... How Long?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I recently decided to switch doctors and talked to Linda about getting a refund for my $500 deposit.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get this back? I sent it via online wire through that one website.

Thanks!

I got my refund within hours (paid with a mastercard). Try talking to Sandy too. I think Linda has been very busy lately.

I had Dr Garcia and was very happy....just curious as to why you switched and which doctor you are going with? I know there are several good doctors in Tijuana

Andy,

I switched because of the facility. My family has a history of heart problems and I just started experiencing heart palpitations. As you know, Dr. Garcia does not work at a full hospital with cardiac arrest equipped ICU. I decided to go to Kelly because the hospital is a little better prepared for that kind of thing. I do very much like Dr. Garcia though!

Just curious, who told you the Mi Doctor does not have an ICU? We were just there a couple of weeks ago and it is a small hospital but they do have an ICU on the 2nd floor. We asked specifically and also asked to see it.

I understand your fears but I too asked about the ICU and Hospital MI does have one. It was located right next to the room that I was in close to the nurses station. I asked to see the room and they opened it and it was completely equiped. I have worked in the medical profession for the past 33 years and I had no fear. Also wondering who told you that they did not have an ICU??

Best of luck with your new doctor and hospital. Which hospital are you going to be at.

I spoke with someone who was just there, they said it had been converted to another patient room. I will now be at florence hospital. Thanks!

Also, just to let everyone know I did get the refund, it has to be done over the phone now which Linda hadn't told me. I had to call Sandy and find out what was going on! It does seem more secure this way!

I am glad you got your refund. I also got mine fairly quickly, it really had the most to do with the fact that you have to talk to Sandy to do it, but she was very accomodating. I was glad it was not a huge hassle to get my funds back.

I am also going to be at florence hospital with Dr.Kelly in March. When is your surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
