Worried My Liver Won't Be "shrunk" Enough

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for my sleeve on 2/6 and have been on the pre-op diet for over a week now. I've read so many others are on all liquids but I'm on high protein/low calorie. I've been doing really good for the most part - 2 Protein Shakes a day, lean meat, veggies, etc. but I've slipped and had a few carbs - a cookie here and there and some potato chips last week. But I haven't had any rice, Pasta, bread, etc. When I went for pre-op with my FP (who has also been sleeved), he told me NO carbs allowed, but my surgeon's office never said that. So I called them and confessed of my slips they said I'd be fine. I mean, I went from eating greasy fast food cheeseburgers and something fried every single day to eating healthy. Surely most of the fat in my liver is gone, right?

My surgeon doesn't require a preop AT ALL- just the traditional no food/drink after midnight.

If you've already addressed this with your Surgeon and they said you'll be fine I wouldn't worry to much about it. Do your very best though to get and stay on track. This is a crazy journey!! You'll want to go in with your best foot forward.

Hugs!!
