Hey August and September Sleever!!! Where Ya'll @?

This journey has been rewarding and discouraging. Mostly discouraging. Yes I've lost!!! but It's been sooooooo slow. OMG!!!! it's too the point that this week I've started the pre-op liquid diet again in hopes that it would jump start my weight loss again. How are you doing?

I am an August sleever also.I have lost appox 56 pounds. The last 5 weeks I haven't lost anything. So I went to a trainer and started a new workout program. Then I went back to the nutrionalist to go over my calorie count per day..who knew I wasn't eating enough...And finally today I lost 1 more pound..

Like I stated in my previous post, I did start the liquid diet again this week and much to my surprise I've lost about 4.5 lbs. I am very happy with that, because I haven't seen that type of weight loss in a while. I will continue on this diet for about 12 more days and see what it get's me. I need to figure out a plan for after the 12 days though....

My plan is to work my sleeve as much as I can in order to meet goal before my August 31, 2012. I realize that stalls happen, but that one (which bTW I did loose 7lbs over 8 weeks) was a bit much. I am 5 months out today and after seeing the scale move for me, I am much more motivated then I was before.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
