Pagie 64 Posted January 29, 2012 Any suggestions on how to boost my energy level? I take a great Multivitamin, exercise 3x a week, get 8+ hours of sleep and I am so drained. I'm down 72 lbs. so I'm certainly not complaining about that. this just started about 2 weeks ago...
JackieOMonroe 123 Posted January 29, 2012 EDIT: Oops! My fatigue didn't just start out of the blue. I agree with Tif 2.0 that B-12 might be the culprit. I feel AWFUL if I forget to take B-12.
Tif 2.0 141 Posted January 29, 2012 It might be a Vitamin B-12 deficiency. I know some people get the B-12 shots and that seems to help.
PEvette 297 Posted January 29, 2012 check your Iron level too, you may be anemic
doggz109 41 Posted January 29, 2012 Yep....being tired is often the first sign of a Vitamin deficiency. Get some labs done. The usual culprit is lack of B-12 or Iron (anemic).
iegal 460 Posted January 29, 2012 Hi Paige; Congrats on being down 72lbs already! YEAH. Not much new to add beyond other posters, but you might want to double check your Vitamins too. I take an additional sublinguial (under the tounge) B12 in additional to my normal suppliments. Also, you did not mention Water intake/protien intake. You mentioned this just started two weeks ago, so are you getting what you need? Maybe you need more calories for a week, yes I said it. Sometimes your body needs a change as it has been losing wegiht so rapidly that a shake up helps. Add some Protein or good fats like avacado/cheese for a week. If that does not work, maybe try add a few good carbs, like legumes. Eventually, you will figure out what your body needs. This is a learning process. Good thing you noticed now find what works. Hugs. I love my sleeve!
Pagie 64 Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks for the suggestions. My Protein and Water consumption has been off for the past few weeks. Which is also around the time that I started exercising regularly. I'll find the right balance somehow, but in the meantime I will get my labs checked.
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted January 30, 2012 Congrats on your weight loss, you're doing FABULOUS!! I'm sorry to hear you're feeling fatigue. But like everyone else has already mentioned a blood panel is a good way to figure out what's going on. Most likely you will find that D-3, B-12 and Iron are huge reasons why we feel tired. Try taking some b-12 sublingual, I find mine at Rite-Aid and Sam's Club. Good luck!!
Pagie 64 Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks Diva - I am on a daily sublingual B-12 and a high potency D Vitamin. I'll my bariatrics office in the morning and get labs drawn.
