I Fit In My Goal Dress!

Recommended Posts

So, when I first started my journey, I met a gal at the support group wearing a super cute dress. A few days later, I ran into her during my post op at the surgeon's office and she was wearing the same dress, so I told her it was cute. She offered me the dress and I said Thanks, but no thanks. I told her it would never fit me, but she told me to have faith that it would!

At last week's support group meeting, she told me she had the dress in her car for me. I tried it on today, with absolutely no hope/thought that it would fit today. Well, it does!! LOL

I think it's too young for me, and it's definitely too low cut, but I'm posting the picture here, among friends as proof that the dress fits!

Nope, I'm not at goal, but I'm crying because I never in a million years thought this dress would fit me and it does. THIS is a true NSV!!!

Maybe in another 20 or 30 pounds I'll feel differently, but right now, I will not be wearing this dress in public. I'm pumped, though, to see real, tangible results of all the treadmill, exercise, and recumbent bike time I've put into me!

Happy Dancing Today!!

YAY! Also it is super cute. If you put a tank top under it you could definitely wear it right now.

Lissa - you look great! I agree with a cami - you could absolutely go out in it. I, too, love the Flexees brand.

It is great to see you enjoying the sweet taste of an NSV. You give so much to everyone on this site, it is nice to see you having a victory and celebrating for yourself.

Best of luck to you.

Sharon

haha, Lissa I know this trick because somehow I have about an inch of sternum, so everything is very cleavage-y on me. Without camisoles, I couldn't have a work wardrobe!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
