Sleeved On Jan 24Th. - Gained Weight

Recommended Posts

totally normal! No worries. I gained like 8lbs from the fluids and gas. It all came off and I lost 100lbs in 6 months. From March 15th,2011 to Sept.,2011. I've been somewut "messing around" thses last few months so I do indeed have about 30-40lbs to my goal, but I'm back on track now and already down 7 mor pounds in a week. It will come, be patient. you did the right thing by getting the sleeve. I LOVE mine and would do it again if i had to. Good Luck!

I was sleeved this past Monday and I am bloated and swollen. I really need to watch my sodium intake from the broth. I am relieved to see that this is a temporary thing. I was worried that I messed it up by licking that teaspoon of hummus. I am a little paranoid right now.

I was also sleeved Jan 24th. I had bought broth from the supermarket and it contained 480 mg of sodium/1 cup serving. I went out to buy a whole roasting chicken and boiled it. It made 2 large containers of broth which taste much better than store bought. And I'm sure less sodium.

My weight on the day of surgery was 210 lbs.

Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
