Hi all! Haven't posted for a while, but HAD to today! I just hit my goal of 145 pounds!!!!! YIPPEE SKIPPEE!!!!! I couldn't believe it when I got on the scale. I've been hovering at 147 for a few weeks and just figured that was IT!......Well, NOT!!!!

I hope this encourages everyone! YOU WILL GET THERE!!!! KEEP on going! Never give up!!!! I mean it! This thing works if you work with it!

ALSO! Just a reminder! We have a support group that meets in Gig Harbor at Borders books in the cafe EVERY Thursday nite from 6:30 to 8:00-ish. If you're in the area, please come! We would love to meet you and have you join our little family!!!!! For more info or directions call 253-265-2276.

Have a blessed day!

Ok, I am home now!!! It's official!!! I am a bandster.

I want to write all about it, but due to the liquid Oxycodone I am on, it is challenging to think, much less type. So I will wait a day or two & share my story.

But I do have to say I read somewhere on the site that Dr. Oh has no bedside manner, I have to disagree. He visited with me twice before I went into surgery & then again this morning before I came home. He was great!!!!

Ok, later everyone, I am hitting the backspace button far too many times!! LOL :smile2:

i use fill centers in auburn and dr ross is fantastic, he's been in bariatrics for 38years. they only do fills on thursday's and if your band is empty 1st one is 1.5ccs then each additional time is .5cc increments. so far i have had 2 fills since surgery on 3/25 and am calling in the am to schedule another one, i am down 30ish lbs so far. any other questions feel free to let me know.

I am having mine done by group health. I have lost the amount of weight they had wanted me to loose prior to surgery on my own before we have to start the diet program. I imagine I will still have to do some sort of low cal diet for the next month. I have my phone appointment with the weight mgmt program group health uses on july 3rd.

Hey Mer...

Can't make it Thurs, we're going to the Rainier's game with my brother & his "girlfriend". He's been single for 6 years and has his 1st girlfriend...too funny, watching your 47 yr old brother dating like a teenager...LOL!!! They are so cute & giggly LOL!!! Any how, we're going with she & her son, getting the kids together for the 1st time...fun!

We've got a couple of get-togthers on the 4th, but if we can get away we will pop in (if I can remember which street to turn on). Hopefully we can, but don't count on us, the kids usually get busy swimming & such and it's hard to tear them away.

See ya soon,

Sue

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
