DH came home early yesterday, not feeling well, so the B-day dinner will have to be next week. Just as well, tummy is still edgy and I've got a headache, maybe I'll get lucky and this is all I'll get. I've had alot more resistance to all the "bugs" my kids have brought home, haven't been sick much since banding. Eating right and Vitamins sure seem to help!

I agree. I haven't been sick yet either, but feel some resp. symptoms coming on today. Think I have a low grade fever. Not a good time of year to get sick, huh! Too much to do! Sorry about your BD dinner.

Hi there everyone and many holiday blessings. I have been very busy with two parties at my home under my belt. The gifts are bought, wrapped, and under the tree and the house is decorated. I got the cold thing out of the way this week and spent two days flat on my back in bed. I will have all six kids and spouses here on Sunday so I gotta get cleaning. I'm hoping to get a picture of everyone for me Christmas card and get those out next week. It's a busy time of year with lots of food temptations but I managed to hit 70 pounds on my Birthday yesterday. That was the best gift of all!

I had my surgery back in July and am doing quite well for the most part. My band is at a good place restriction wise. This is my concern: I have been crazy planning my daughters wedding. It is now over. I am wanting to get back on track. I have lost close to 50 pounds without trying very hard. I haven't exercised or really watched what I was eating. I now want to take off the rest of my weight (another 6- to 75 pounds) by this summer. I kind of forgot all the basics and am looking for some help, So :help: Help!!!

Thanks all.

Nancy

Missing my DH really bad tonite......He's out of town until the 24th. My daughter and I got caught up watching a Lifetime Christmas movie that had me crying my eyes out and begging for it to stop.....but couldn't change the channel.....Sheesh. These two week trips of his are a bugger. But he'll be calling later tonite.

On the good side, I just hit 180, so that is super awesome. I was hoping to hit 175 by Christmas, and I just might....or at least somewhere really close.

If anyone wants to walk or just get together for some awesome Soup (I know a couple places) give me a holler and I'll get right back to you. All done Christmas shopping and feeling a little blue....

Where do you live? I would love to get together for a walk and Soup. I am needing help getting back on track. I live in Puyallup. Are you anywhere close? I had my surgery in Mexico, therefore need support badly. I just finished my daughter's wedding and although I have lost almost 50 pounds since July, I know I could do much better if I would lay off the sugar. Sugar goes down easy. Good stuff is harder. I do love soup though.

Any ones help on the basics would do me good.

Thanks

Thanks Merrillee - Let's get together after Christmas. This week is a little crazy. I do work, but have lots of days off. I would love the support and just by you signature it seems like we have "Jesus" in common.

Thanks for your willingness.

My post op was Friday and besides having to wait in the waiting area for an hour and 20 minutes started out fairly uneventful. My incisions are completely healed and I am doing great. The doctor was very pleased with my progress and gave me some advice about continuing on... The Prilosec they gave me was to take every day for the next few months. I had no idea. I thought it was an as needed type thing. There really should have some better communication about that! But oh well, I am on the right track now. Also, the hospital preop nutrition/surgery preparation class said to hold off on exercise (besides walking) for 4-6 wks and the doctor was surprised that I wasn't in the gym 4-6 times a wk already! I was confused because I am only 2 1/2 wks out but I will be going back next week (that is my choice. Just too much going on this week!)

The part that freaked me out was that the pathology report came back abnormal on my liver. During the surgery, the doctor had found some usual tissue on my liver and sent it in for biopsy. IT'S BENIGN - but I do have a condition called Scarcoidosis. Basically it means that my liver is covered in little fibromas and I could possibly have it on another organ too. It can go away on its own, but some people require steroidal treatment (prednisone). I was so taken aback... I kept it together in the doctor's office but when I got to my car I burst into tears. I felt ridiculous because it could be something horrible (which it isn't) but still... who wants to hear that they have crap on their liver??? Anyway, I have to go see a specialist after the holidays to see if they want to do further testing or if we are just going to wait and see if it clears itself up.

I am so grateful that I did the band. For the weight loss, for the fact that I am reclaiming my life, even for the unwanted discovery. The more I know about my body, the more I can take control of it and be healthy.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
