strudel 0 Posted January 26, 2012 I had my VSG on Jan 9th. I have not felt well since. I have no energy. I get tired very easy. I sleep a lot more than usual. I stay nauseated all the time. Has anyone else had this problem?
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted January 26, 2012 Hey there, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling nauseated all the time. I did too in the very begining and it was awful!! Did your surgeon happen to give you anything for nausea? If not it might be a good idea to give his/her office a call and see about getting some. Another idea might be if you are not on any kind of PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) it might help to relieve some undue pressure on your stomach. Our stomachs will still try to produce the same amount of acid it did before, even though we only hav 15 % left. I'm taking Zegerid, though I have tried Prevacid and Nexium in the past and neither did much to help. Everyone has a preference and what works for me, may not work for you. All the best to you and I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted January 26, 2012 your not feeling well. Are you able to get in all your liquids? Sometimes if your dehydrated that can cause nausea. Maybe it would be a good ideal to call your surgeon's office tomorrow and she what they recommend. Hope you get better real soon!

strudel 0 Posted January 26, 2012 Thanks for your input. I was thinking maybe dehydration...
Happy Camper 266 Posted January 26, 2012 Strudel it becomes a circle. You feel better, start walking, sip you fluids then you start to feel better, walk a little more (need to clear your lungs), so on. You should start to feel better. Like Diva said you may need a PPI if you are not taking anything as well. If you do not start to feel better OR begin to feel worse time to call doc. Take care of you. Julie76 251 Posted January 26, 2012 Dehydration is nothing to play with. You may want to talk to your doctor about getting some iv fluids. It could make you feel so much better.
smkeller 3 Posted January 26, 2012 The first month was the worst for me. chicken broth was (and is) a great comfort. You MUST take antacids every day. I have to take two omeprozole 20 mgs every day or I pay big time. It will get better and better. Sip, sip, sip until you are sick of sipping, and then sip some more. This is a MAJOR adjustment for your body, so just let it adjust. It will, and you will be happy.
