Post-Op Vitamins & Weight Loss

Recommended Posts

Per my surgeon and NUT I should be taking Calcium, a Mutli-Vitamin and B12. My surgeon says that it takes close to two years to become B12 deficient. But B12 is obviously great for energy. I am pretty sure my program recomends 2000 B12 over the course of a week and 1000 Calcium in a day.

What is everybody else doing?

i have been taking Bariactric fusion chew-able Vitamins. taste is not bad at all and there is no chalkiness or after taste. i also had blood work done last week and everything came back normal so i would say that they definitely work .

How many are you taking a day. The nice part about this one seems that it has both Calcium and B12 in the multi-Vitamin. Right now I take three different supplements (Multi, B12, Calcium)

Without my B12 shots I woudn't be able to get out of bed most days. The Multivitamin I take to feel better. I use to take a nasty liquid one, so I switched to flinstons gummies. Its like a treat. Don't stick with nasty Vitamin. You can find decent ones out there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
