Clear Liquid Diet Question

Recommended Posts

Is Isopure and Isopure plus the pre made bottles ok to drink on clear liquid day? Thanks in advance.

Can you call your surgeon's office? My surgeon doesn't recommend Protein Shakes at all. His philosophy is that they just slow weight loss and if one is heavy enough for this surgery they have enough reserves to last them for some time. Each surgeon or group seems to have their own method.

I drank the Isopure gatorade looking things for my first to weeks. They qualify as clear liquid and have 40 grams of Protein per bottle. Best to keep your protein alway now between 70-90 grams a day. You wnat to heal and be building muscle in place of the fat. When you start eating solids, then lean protein always goes into your sleeve first, the veggies, then fruits and them finally complex carbs. Not much room in there so the carbs a teeny amounts.

"Living on reserves" is setting one up for an eating disorder. Eating good foods does not slow weight loss. In fact, if you don't get enough calories, you will stall.

Thanks those are what I'm talking about the crystal light looking ones with 40 grams. Tomorrow morning is my surgery and I have one day on just clears and a week after too. I probably won't drink it unless I'm really hungry. Thanks.

You won't be hungry. Drink them anyway. Just take it from someone who lost 18 punds in 12 days. Your body needs the Protein.< /p>

Thanks for the support for the first time I'm starting to get nervous and I'm hearing from people it's not too late to cancel. I don't want to cancel. I want to do this with every Fiber of my being, but getting scared too.

Swimmer, Most doctors do allow the Isopure clear drinks during the clear liquid phase. If you can stand them, then drink them unless your doctor says no. As for getting scared, that's normal just before any big decision. :) Just remind yourself about why you wanted this surgery and put your trust in a higher power. I haven't heard of any sleever who didn't have some fear in the last few days before surgery.

Good luck!! We've got a spot saved for you on the loser's bench! ;)

Well, I'm down 22lbs since surgery on Jan 9 so something must be working! I'm sure the stalls will come but they haven't yet!

Thanks again. Congrats to you all for your loss so far! Did you fear that ity might not work for you ever? I have a thyroid issue to that will be addressed after a little bit off healing as I have had it a long time and fairly mild, but I worry it won't help. Just went out and brought home a million pounds of liquids. :) I have until midnight to drink then surgery at 1130 tomorrow. So excited to get to the other side.

I'm so, so, so glad I had this done. I'm 40, 5'7" and started at 268 (Dr. has my start at 266). I'm on 88mcg Levothyroxine and have been on thyroid meds for about 5 years. I've been dieting since I was 9 years old.

I bought a bunch of stuff too and have most of a flat of vitawater zero I'll probably never drink, a box of sugarfree popsicles that will only get used if I cave in and give my son artifically sweetened junk. I might go through the popsicles when it gets hot, but for now they're taking up space in my small freezer.

The things that I loved best were strained progresso Soups, progresso makes a chicken broth that has rosemary, thyme and basil- it's pretty "herby" tasting but I really liked it mixed with the progresso Soups. Same for vegetable broth from Trader Joes. These liquids aren't always totally clear but they're what my surgeon's group suggested.

You will do great! You've got a gorgeous little baby (profile pic?) you want to chase around - trust me I know - my son is 3 and I'm so tired of trying to run after him and have tons of excess flab bounce around! I plan to swim with him this summer!

I feel the exact same way. I have 2 kids one four and one 2. One of my main reasons for my decision (I go in on feb 2!!) was that I wanted to be healthier for my children and want to be around for them. I want to be able to play sports and such with them. Congrats on the loss so far that is awesome!

Hang in there. You're almost there. I'm five weeks post-op and have already gone through the gambit of emotions but no regrets. Right before surgery your emotions are running wild so concentrate on the logical thought process that went into your decision and actions leading up to surgery. There are so many reasons to be healthy. Follow the program and it will work regardless of any thyroid issues. Good luck and prayers!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
