SrHogan 6 Posted January 23, 2012 So today was my initial consult for my insurance mandated diet. I have a 6 month diet ( they tell you seven though because of how the appts have to be for exp when I come back in feb that will be only one month not two) my weight as of today is 396.5 that's scary because I am teetering so close to 400 and the surgeon pretty much told me going over 400 could post pone my actualy surgery. What does my diet consist of you ask well this is what she had prescribed for me! Haha well I don't exactly know yet. For the first month they want me to journal and log everything ( she said I could use my fitness pal) and then I go back on the 20th of feb to meet w her again and meet with the dietician. Oh I found out today that I also have a Vitamin D defienctce
SrHogan 6 Posted January 23, 2012 Oh and I forgot to mention they want me to lose 10% of my starting weight by the time I'm done with this diet ( or atleast that's the goal) so in seven months I need to lose about 39lbs. Also they said I will have a two week pre op liquid diet
Amanda 3.0 140 Posted January 23, 2012 If you are going to a diet doctor that works with your surgeon, I would guess they know exactly what to do to get you where you need to be. They are experts in getting your paperwork ready for the insurance company. Don't be afraid, if the doctor allows it, to ask for prescription help. I did, and it made it much easier.
