MissBliss 29 Posted January 23, 2012 I am 5 1/2 months out and I have lost 87 pounds. Everyone says I look different. I have a before picture that I look at. I see NO difference. I am still huge. I have about 70 pounds to go but it still looks like I need to lose it all. I was talking to a friend who said that anorexic women don't see their body type/size. Is that possible for heavier women? All I see is how fat I am. My son found video of me at my heaviest and I look the same! Does anyone else have this problem. Intellectually I understand that I look differently but I can't see it! So frustrating!!!!
RosieSweetie 40 Posted January 23, 2012 I understand exactly what you are saying. When I was heavier, I didn't see me as being so fat, either. It takes a while for your brain to catch-up with your body. I also find it annoying when people keep asking me, "how much did you lose?" . Also, since I am still a plus size (although I have been losing weight since May 2011 on a pre-op diet ) I feel like I am not "thin enough" . I am just hoping (along with exercise, high Protein, 800-900 cal/day diet) that I can become "normal sized" AND Maintain it.
Lissa 2,631 Posted January 23, 2012 I didn't really see the difference until I put a pre-op and current picture side by side. It IS a huge difference, but you have to look at both shots to really see how much of a difference it is!
