Every time I call the surgeons office they keep telling me I'm fine and I'm eating/drinking wrong. I keep having to spit, swallowing a lot of it is making me gag/dry heave.

Constantly having to gag/heave even when I don't drink or eat anything.

Water upsets me

Mushy food upsets me

EVERYTHING upsets me

And they keep telling me I'm fu***** okay. IM NOT. I FEEL LIKE DEATH.

What the hell is wrong with me ?

I beg for an answer or support. I can't do this alone.

I'm sitting in my car typing this. Nothing in my mouth. I'm gagging.

Two days ago... Kidney stones....

What's next? gallbladder?

Surgery: 12.12.11

Lost: 64lbs

Maybe you're dehydrated from not getting enough fluids and spitting. Do you feel really dry? Dehydration can cause nausea and make you feel really crappy. Go get some fluids in the ER if your insurance will cover it. If not, you must find a way to get some kind of liquid in you. Hot chocolate, milk, lemonade, anything.

Please keep us updated--

If you cant keep anything down then you will needs fluids via IV. You will feel so much better. I would go now. Listen to your body.

I say it's time for a trip to the ER. You sound dehydrated and it doesn't get better by itself. It's a vicious cycle of gagging and spitting until you can't drink anything. Go now, please, and let us know when you're home and fine.

This is what happens when I don't have anything in my stomach: It cramps, I get nausiated and then I produce a lot of saliva that I have to spit out.

You are getting dehydrated. Lissa is right. Get to the ER.

Very concerned for you...if you dont go to the hospital (which is my advice) try to fill a syringe with Vitamin Water or G2 and try to just get one syringe down at a time. Please keep us posted.

Whoa you've lost 64lbs in a month!?! I'm 5 months out and have only lost 62. I think you need to seek the advice of another Dr. Sounds to me like you have a leak....

I've never heard of having to get pre-authorization for an emergeny room visit. Usually you go to a covered hospital and then ask for a co-pay. Whay about your Primary car doctor?

I would first start with caling the on-call surgeon in the practice that did your surgery.

You have to wait for pre-authorization to go to the ER? Honey, are there any 24 hour urgent care places near you, at a minimum? Please get in and see someone ASAP, we're worried!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
