Recommended Posts

Well tomorrow at 8:30 am I will officially be sleeved. I am soooooo excited but also sooooo nervous! Guess that's normal though. Everyone please say a prayer for me and the doctor that all goes well. I will post when I feel up to it!! Btw, I am calling my new sleeve "Nanner" cause it's shaped like a banana and I'm from Alabama....cute huh? So me and Nanner will check in soon....

LOL very cute name!! I've been around awhile and thats the first time I've heard anyone name their sleevie Nanner... which as I think about it, seems so logical!!

Best wishes and many prayers for a speedy recovery. You will do amazing!!! Remember this: It's always darkest before dawn. With that... GO GET YOURS!!!

I love the nanner nickname! I haven't thought about naming my sleeve when I get surgery in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll think of something later :blush5:

Nanner is very cute. I guess I didn't care to name my sleeve. It's part of me; the same old stomach -- just banana shaped now.

It's 09:54 here in Northern California, so that means you are sleeved, my friend! Best wishes and God bless! Make sure to update us when you can!

Me and Nanner are back in the hotel after surgery and I have been sleeved. Surgery went great, the doctor said I was a textbook case and everything went great. I am sitting in the hotel sipping on some propel zero and doing okay. I am walking every hour or so to help get rid of the gas pains which are pretty intense on my shoulders and chest. Hopefully that will go away soon. I will update more as I progress. Thank you for all the prayers and support!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
