Right On Schedule.....i'm Losing My Hair!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, yeah......I expected it. After all, I lost my hair when I had Band surgery too (and I'm not really sure it all grew back.) About a week ago (exactly 3 months and 5 days after surgery) I got a handful of hair as I rinsed out my Shampoo. Every day since, I've left behind a clump of hair in the shower and even more on the bathroom floor as I blow-dry!

On the bright side, I'm down 33 pounds - halfway to my goal! I feel great. I'm exercising. I fit in a size 14. Life is good. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go sweep my bathroom floor.............

WOW.....I do not have a handfull of hair to lose. I never really noticed any change when I had my lapband and I lost around 90 pounds with the band. I will have to watch with the sleeve that I had on Dec 11, 2011

Oh my, handfuls? Just curious did you take Biotin? Only asking because I take a HUGE Biotin pill religiously every morning hoping I can avoid hairloss. I have to cut it in fours and it literally makes me sick. Does Protein intake make any difference? Any helpful advice, please.

Good thing is that it grows back. But I know that doesn't help right now! Maybe you can try a cute new style so it wont be noticable.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
