fcrespo 3 Posted January 22, 2012 Hello everyone, I just had the sleeve on the 18th and I believe it is one of the best things I have ever done in my life for my life. I had so many thoughts and questions about going under on the anesthesia that you would not even think of. I had bad thoughts that I would probably wake up during the procedure, or that after affect on the pain. Besides what my mind was telling me I was thinking? UMM what would happen if I have a heart attack right now I would have to go under all these situations no matter what if I get to the ER and they have to do open heart surgery? So, there were two young girls that on YouTube that had the procedure done and I was like man I am a puss. Then the moment had come. 4:30 wake up time get to the hospital at 5:30 am. My nervous were pretty much contain but then wanted to go crazy. Then came my name Felix you are the first patient. 6:00 am prep, 7:00 am in the surgery room speaking to the anesthesiologist and he told me "Felix you will fell not a thing and you will be in another world." I started to laugh and I told him well can I have some medication in a cup to take home? We had a great chuckle. He told me breath in the mask for a treatment. I told three breaths of treatments" YEA RIGHT!! treatment.. That is all I remember.. After all that I woke up in the recovery room drugged up. Those drugs were so good I felt asleep every time. enjoy the sleep guys!!! People and visitors and nurses and doctors will be visiting. Besides that Recovery went well and now I am home eating a burrito watching the biggest loser.. Sike naw. Clear liquid my family I am still under clear liquid. Please, don't forget you will get tempted to eat as you were before, especially all these commercials and family visiting and cooking and they don't understand the way you need to change the way you need to eat. Look at you goal and it's worth the little pain you will go through. It's time to were skinny jeans this year!!! naw just kidding.. It's time to get healthy once again... you will not regret it. 3 skifast1998, UndaMyVoodoo and mommy794 reacted to this

fcrespo 3 Posted January 22, 2012 Hey skifast1998. Trust me. I have done all the youtube moments and sometime those could get alittle scary so I hope you could NOT keep watching them. Just have faith because my sister just had the procedure 3 weeks ago and she was in pain and I was like holy ****, I ave to go through this pain.. But, her body is not like my body. Everyone body is different. She had some pain but her asthma was acting up. I didn't have breathing problems just High blood pressure issues. I didn't even deal with the pain. My youger sister told me felix when you are in the recovery room and they tell you in the pain scale of 1-10 how much pain do you have say 9 everytime. You will sleep and sleep and your recovery will be faster. As well you will not feel the pain as much. But you cannot take advantage of the pain meds becasue part of the healing process is walking and you will need to walk around to prevent blood clots. They will explain that to you. I believe you and all the sleevers will be fine. Don't let other people exaggrerations in pain mess your process up.

Bedhead 158 Posted January 23, 2012 I'm starting my self imposed liquid diet tomorrow. HOOOOOOOOOLY crap. I actually wish my surgeon required a preop diet because I feel like it would be much easier for me to be accountable if he was making me do it as opposed to just doing it myself. I'm SO AFRAID that I'm going to gain weight and have to cancel my surgery!
fcrespo 3 Posted January 23, 2012 Greetings Vanessa Patty! Not a problem.. anything questions I will try to answer to our future family sleevers!!
fcrespo 3 Posted January 23, 2012 Bedhead. I guarentee you that you will lose at least 10lbs with the preop clear liquid diet before surgery.. fcrespo 3 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) Vanessa Patty, about your Protein. Yea in could be a journey just by thinking which one to buy. Just by a whey protien that has 60grams of Protein. Nothing fancy. I have always worked out and was a personal trainer but I slacked off completly. and with my health issues and family history everything was down hill until the verticle sleeve. I recommend whey protein with 60 grams of Protein becasue you will need to consum at least 40 grams per day. 1/2 cup for Breakfast and the other 1/2 cup you saved for your late snack.< /p> Also make after the 2nd week after your surgery you will NOT be able to drink Water or the Protein shake by chuggying it.. NO No No!. remember you have anew tummy that will not consume a hole lot of liquid in a second. You will need to get a shot glass lol.. or a tylenol dosage cup and serve yourself 2oz Protein Shake. Yea! I know thats all I could drink at once.. for now.. YES! remember you in the healing process if not you could leak or get acid reflex and that **** burns.. only because the Whey Protein says 60 GRAMS you think it's every scoop is 60 grams of protein? NO!! that is a trick.. Every scoop has 20 grams! so if you need 40 grams they just add 2 scoops with water!!! water!! water!!. make sure you add your Water so that you could tolerate it and you wont deyhrate..
